The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET-UG is a entrance examination conducted by CBSE in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) in government or private medical colleges in India. In India, the total seats available for MBBS course is 53300. Under 15% quota and private/deemed universities around 30000 MBBS seats are available for NEET exam aspirant. Apart from NEET exam, students wish to seek admission in AIIMS and JIPMER will also appear separate entrance examination conducted by their respective board. Exam mode

Pen and Paper Based. Candidates have to mark their response on the specially designed machine-gradable OMR sheet using Ball Point Pen.

Type of question (MCQ)

The question paper of NEET exam will have multiple choice questions (MCQs). Candidates have to choose correct response from the given four options. Question of NEET will be based on the syllabus as prescribed by examination authority.

NEET question booklet will have a total of 180 multiple choice questions

Distribution of questions

According to NEET 2016 exam pattern the question booklet will have 45 questions from each section of Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. The table given below shows the distribution of NEET 2016 questions.

NEET Syllabus

NEET question booklet will have questions from Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology subjects taught during the10+2/HSC level.

Marking Scheme

Each question of NEET will be of 4 marks. The total mark of NEET is 720. For each correct answer in NEET candidates will score 4 marks and for each incorrect response 1 mark will be deducted. No marks will be allotted for unmarked response.
